Noa Szefler (pronounced SHEF-ler), began training dogs at a boarding kennel at age 14. In 2000, she joined Canine Companions for Independence, where she became a Certified Service Dog Instructor, trained lots of dogs, created and taught various group training classes and weekend seminars and managed the CCI Northeast Regional Puppy Program for several years.
After crossing over to force free training in 2007, Noa and her family moved to Israel, where she founded an academy for dog behavior consultants and was one of the first 3 people in the country to teach about science-based and reward-based training and behavior modification for dogs.
In 2014 Noa gave a TED Talk about dog training and the dominance myth, and has recently started writing a book about dog training and behavior for the Israeli crowd.
Today Noa lives near Richmond VA and operates Liberty Dog Training, where she continues to teach trainers and to help behaviorally challenged dogs and their families to live in harmony and joy.
